The world’s first Globalization Center was established on March 20, 2025. That day was chosen because the decisive conversation with the management of Conference Hotel Kontakt der Kontinenten took place on March 19. And March 20 is the International Day of Happiness. It was established by the United Nations on June 28, 2012, when all 193 member states of the General Assembly unanimously adopted Resolution 66/881.
Since 2012, the UN has published the World Happiness Report (the “World Happiness Report”) annually on the occasion of International Happiness Day. The report includes a list showing how happy the average inhabitant of most countries in the world is. The point total is the sum of scores in the areas of prosperity, social connectedness, life expectancy and freedom of choice of citizens. It is one of the reports used by the Globalization Center Foundation in evaluating projects and actions.
On December 12, 2025, the world’s first Globalization Center will open at Conference Hotel Kontakt der Kontinenten in Soesterberg.
