The Globalization Center

The Globalization Centers strive for Perspective Leadership and multidisciplinary solutions to global challenges, based on the Human and Children’s Rights (The MHR) and the Sustainable Development Goals (the SDGs). They promote sustainable interaction between different social disciplines, globally leading to perspective-based scenarios, projects and actions. The purpose of the Globalization Center Foundation is to establish independent centers for encounter, exchange and action, and to develop and provide education and training (or have it developed). With the aim of strengthening trust, connection and vitality and contributing to a sustainable world. And to ensure that societies can develop and thrive democratically, economically, rule of law, socially and technologically, safely and autonomously. In establishing globalization centers, the focus is first on Europe.

Ideally, a center would include several work spaces, a silence center and opportunities for information exchange, education and training, lodging and themed walking trails. As well as a bridge, a fountain, a memorial and sustainable stores and hospitality.

Objectives

The objectives of globalization centers are:

Results

By contributing to achieving the goals of the Globalization Center Foundation, we achieve the following results more quickly, effectively and sustainably:

Setup Globalization Center

What does a Globalization Center look like?

Below is an overview of the facilities ideally located in, or near, a globalization center. The most desirable and feasible situation will be considered for each location.

Work and meeting spaces*

where people can exchange ideas, whether organized or not. Educations, trainings, workshops and other types of meetings can be held in which people jointly arrive at (multidisciplinary) actions and projects.

Stillness and reflection center*

where interfaith meetings are held that cross the boundaries of individual philosophies and faiths and connect them.

International information exchange*

There is a space and/or people can be informed of thoughts and ideas through a database and various media, and through the digital Pyramid RegieNetwork System. And exchange knowledge, experience, activities and projects with each other.

Conference, theater and concert hall*.

There are rooms where work conferences, congresses, lectures, workshops and other kinds of meetings can be held. And where (intercultural) concerts, performances and events can be provided.

Overnight*

There are several lodging options in, or near, a globalization center, such as a youth hostel, campground, bed and breakfast and/or hotel.

Hiking trails*

At the globalization center, one can walk the SDG walk and the MKR walk. Along the path there are signs with the SDGs and with the MKR.

A bridge

Wherever possible, there is a bridge at each globalization center, as a symbol of connection. With the logo IkVerbind attached to it.

This photo was provided by Huub and Adelheid Kortekaas.

Stores and hospitality*

There are specific (international) facilities, which meet criteria of integer and practical sustainability, equitable globalization and responsible food whenever possible.

A fountain

Wherever possible, there is a fountain at each globalization center, as a common symbol of joy, creating a place of inner peace and security and happiness and joy.

An international monument

An international monument will be erected near each globalization center to commemorate all those involved – both victims and perpetrators – in senseless, physical, mental, emotional, social, relational and spiritual violence. This is for processing, inspiration and encouragement and to achieve individual and collective peace and well-being. An energizing place that invites and encourages action.

* The first Globalization Center at Soesterberg in the Netherlands meets this requirement.
